Runner in Hyde Park

The third race of the Summer League series took place on Sunday (4th July) in Perivale Park (5 miles). The results are on the website http://www.serpentine.org.uk/rdb/showrace.php?race=6130

We had a great turnout of 24 adults & 3 children. Congratulations go to Victoria Carter (2nd woman overall), Eric Vamben (2nd man overall) and the Men’s A relay team (photo attached) who put in a particularly impressive performance.

The next (4th) race in the Summer League series is a 10k race hosted by Mornington Chasers on Sunday 25th July at 9.30am in Regents Park (meet at The Hub). Full details of how to find The Hub can be found at http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/regents_park/hub/thehub.cfm

9.30am Senior Open Race 10k
11am Tenderfoot race (approx. 1,500m), followed by the kids fun run (approx. 400m) and the relays

The Open Race is a 3-lap course inside the park. The course is mainly flat with some slight undulations.

You don't have to enter in advance – just bring your Serpie top, make sure your club membership is up to date and sign up on the planner to give us idea of how many people to expect. As usual if you are available to help with registrations/recording numbers that would be great – no experience necessary.

Parking

There is a pay & display car park along Chester Road on the Outer Circle and Inner Circle (open from 9am).

Public Transport

The nearest tube stations are Regents Park, Great Portland Street, Baker Street, St John’s Wood, Chalk Farm & Camden Town.

Food/Changing facilities

Post race refreshments and food will be provided by the host club. Changing, showers & toilet facilities are available in the Hub. There are also a limited number lockers to store your belongings.

Final race

Sunday 15th August – 5 mile race (hosted by Serpentine) – Battersea Park (9.30am) – volunteers required to marshal, host water stations, time keep etc. Please sign up on the planner as a helper and you will be contacted nearer the time. Also, if you could bring some food for the refreshment table it would be hugely appreciated – there have been some fantastic refreshments tables at the other races – we don’t want to let the side down.
