Beginner bike training

Beginners Bike Training On Sundays in Richmond Park, starting 11 July, I will be holding bike training for beginners at 09:30 for one hour.
For the purpose of these sessions, my definition of beginner is: Someone who has a good base fitness but is struggling with some of the technical aspects of cycling such as confidence in cycling with cleats; tackling a more technical course with hills (up and down!) cornering; and generally a desire to improve their bike handling skills.
Meet at the Pen Ponds car park for a PROMPT 09:30 start.
There is a specific plan for each session; the first one will deal with:
• basic mount and dismount
• getting used to clipping in and out of pedals SPDs or road Cleats
Depending on how the group as a whole manages each step, we may move on more quickly or add extra goals to certain sessions. We will aim to progress to group riding by the final session, so that participants will then be free to enjoy the Surrey hills.
There are 16 places available. Sundays, 11 July – 15 August. Please email me to book your place at dparsonagept@gmail.com While these sessions are free for Serpentine members, I would prefer that people are able to commit to all six dates so that we can see a clear progression for those who take part.
