Nick Torry selected to run for England

England Athletics are pleased to announce the England Team who are off to compete in Middlefart, Denmark in a Half Marathon on 8th May. Teams consist of of three Men and three Women – with two men and two women to count to aggregate times. Selection was based upon performances at England Championships at Wilmslow, and Power of 10 rankings.
England Athletics’ Head of Competition, Andy Day said, “We have a strong team/selected from the England Championships at Wilmslow and Power of 10 rankings and hope that there are no further air restirctions!”
The teams are:
* MEN: Matthew Bond (Coach: Dr Norman Poole), Nicholas Torry, Kairn Stone (Coach: Martin Rush)
* WOMEN: Katrina Grimmett (Coach: Rick Velati), Fiona Clark (Coach: Bud Baldaro), Debbie Walters
The whole team are excited to compete for their country in Denmark.
Nicholas Torry added, “It’s hard to put into words just how excited I am about representing England. It’s great to get recognition for my recent performances whilst driving me to better these.” Nicholas started by running the 2001 London Marathon in just under 3 hours, after 4 weeks He really enjoyed the experience and continued to run. He has recently represented the South of England at 10k and Surrey for XC, and ran a half Marathon personal best of 1:06:48 in Bath this year.
