Simon Coles wins Tom Hogshead Trophy

With the final handicap results in and checked, we can now announce that this year’s Tom Hogshead trophy has been won decisively by Simon Coles.
In fact, Simon wrapped up the win last month, but only after compiling yesterday’s results can be confirm by what margin. Simon scored 194pts beating nearest rivals David Hinds, Peter Bowles and Ann Kinahan on 163pts, 160pts and 152pts respectively.
Congratulation to the winner, runners-up, and everyone who took part in what was an exciting year (well, until Simon ran away with it).
After finishing his 46th handicap, Coles accepted his plaque at the handicap yesterday morning in front of the December handicap runners.
The Tom Hogshead trophy is awarded to the runner who scores most points over a year of handicaps. Points are awarded for race position and performance against runners’ own PBs – winning the Hogshead is only possible with month on month improvement and resolve.
Next month’s race is on 2nd January 2010, when all runners start again on zero points.
