We have permission from the Forestry Commission to host the 2nd race of the Sunday League in the attractive surroundings of Rowney Warren Woods. The 3 lap course is challenging and technical with the distance being approximately 5 miles. The recommended shoe choice would be off-road shoes. A short hard gravel portion on each lap together with numerous tree roots negates the use of spikes.

Car parking is limited so we would recommend that you car share as much as possible. There are no public transport links.

There are no toilets within the Forest area. For those using the A1M, the best option would be the Baldock services at Junction 10.

A private mobile refreshment concern normally operates from the forest car park. I have given her advanced warning of the race and she should be in attendance. Apparently the sausage and bacon rolls etc are very nice!

Please remember that the Forestry Commission controls the forest and therefore parking must be only in the designated area or along the outside road. We are using the east side of the woods where cycling is prohibited so bikes should not be a problem. It is popular with dog walkers but hopefully they will soon realise what is going on and not interfere.
