New development at Serpentine!

I am pleased to announce that we are launching a new Serpentine mailing list system, fully integrated with our website, that will be the primary method of disseminating ‘official’ club information. Thanks to Ian Hodge for doing the work to set this up.
When you visit the Serpentine website and log into Serpiebase (http://www.serpentine.org.uk/serpiebase), you will now see a new page called ‘Email preferences’. In that page you can tick the boxes next to the type of information emails that you want to receive from the club.
If you want to stop receiving emails at any time you simply uncheck all the boxes. You will need to keep your email address up to date on SerpieBase.
These will be one-way mailing lists that only a limited number of organisers within the club will be able to mail to, so you will not receive any spam. The mailing lists you can choose from are:
Club news
Racing – running (cross-country, track & field, etc)
Racing – other (triathlon, duathlon, aquathlon, CTT etc)
Training – running
Training – other
Please take a moment to review your options in SerpieBase so that you receive the emails you want.
We are also thinking of have a weekly summary (a round-up of all the above) if there is demand.
The Serpentine egroup will remain for members to chat informally about running and triathlon, but that mailing list is hosted by Yahoo Groups so you will need to join it separately. We will not be maintaining the separate Serpietri egroup as most messages are cross-posted, and only a tiny number of members are subscribed to that and not the main egroup.
We will start to send out emails using this system at the beginning of February, and we hope that all club members will want to keep in touch with the club and its activities.
Best wishes
Serpentine Committee
