Pilates & Conditioning Course for Runners – Boost your Marathon Training this New Year

The Serpentine Running Club is holding a four week course on Thursday evenings in the Club Room at the Seymour Centre starting at the end of January. The course is aimed at helping runners to boost their running performance by improving core stability and strengthening weak areas. The classes are taught by personal trainer and Pilates teacher Laura Williams and will cover everything from how to strengthen your core to how to work specific muscles to prevent or alleviate conditions such as a problematic ITB, Achilles tendinitis, lower back pain…and so on.
There will be two classes: one for beginners and one at intermediate level.
= The first course takes place at 6.15pm. Suitable for those those new to Pilates and/or those recovering from injury.
= The second class, at 7.15pm, is for those at intermediate level for those who have some Pilates/resistance training experience or those who have previously attended one of Laura’s courses.
= You’ll need a Reebok Resistance Tube Level 3 for this course. Available from Amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Reebok-Resistance-Tube/dp/B000IEOQXU )
Both classes will have a capacity of just 8 so there will be plenty of individual attention on offer. You’ll also be given handouts after each session and a maintenance programme at the end of the course so that you can incorporate your exercises into your current routine.
