North of the Thames Cross Country Championships

Angie Palin (angiepalin@hotmail.com) for the women and Malcolm French for the men (MalcolmFrench@aol.com) would like to hear from Serpentine members who would like to compete in the North of the Thames Cross Country Championships. Advance entries are required for the event: you can’t just turn up and run. Please let us know no later than Thursday, 4 December.
The event will be held on Saturday, 13 December at Fryent Country Park, Kingsbury, London, NW9 8QG. There will be young athletes races starting at 1.00pm. The Senior Women’s 6000m race will start at 1.35pm. The Senior Men will run 8000m starting at 2.15pm.
The senior women and men’s races will incorporate a match between Middlesex County Athletics Association, the Royal Air Force and the Civil Service for the Sir Sefton Brancker and SEAX trophies. The RAF usually put out a strong team. If there are any Serpies who are Civil Service employees and are good standard runners, and who would like to be considered for inclusion in the CS team, please can you email Malcolm French separately so that he can pass your contact details on the to CS team managers, John Hall and Ian Statter. You will be able to run for both the CS and Serpentine. Middlesex selections will be based on performances for the season to the end of November.
