Club Championship 2009 road races

For those new to the club, the Club Championships are a series of races with trophies for the male, female and age-graded winners of each race. The four short races are called the “grand-prix” and are organised by the club so there is no advance entry – you just turn up on the day. The other races are open races and you must enter them yourself.
RACES FOR 2009
Half Marathon – Wokingham – Sun 8th February
5 miles – Victoria Park Open 5 – Sat 28th March
1 km – Hyde Park – July
3 km – Battersea Park – July
1 mile – Willesden Stadium – July
5 km – Battersea Park – July
10 km – Middlesex & Open 10k – September
10 miles – Cabbage Patch 10 – October
Marathon – Any race during 2009
Please note this year, we’re not having a 20 mile Club Championship. The schedule we’ve chosen has put the half marathon back in the Spring when people are training for longer distances and there is more choice of races. Trying to put a 20 mile race in this period gives no decent gap between the races.
The Club Championship will be the Best 6 from the above 9 races.
Please also note Wokingham is a popular race and entries have opened, so if you want to guarantee a place you should enter sooner, rather than later.
Paper entries can be downloaded from the Wokingham half marathon website or you can enter online via Runners World.
