Serpentine ‘Grand Prix’

Serpentine Grand Prix. This year, we will again be holding a series of short distance races during the summer. They are open to all Serpies and you are all encouraged to take part. These races aren’t just for the faster runners in the club. If you haven’t tried these events before, you will be surprised what fun it can be to race against your training partners.
You can run in just one race, but if you want to stand a chance of being our “Grand Prix Champion” you will need to complete all four events. Trophies are awarded to the outright male and female winners of each race and also to the best performer on an age graded basis. There is also a trophy for the overall champion.
Don’t forget that you must wear a club vest, t-shirt or Tri top in these races – and have paid your membership fee.
The 5k will take place on a very special day, as it will be exactly 100 years since the very first marathon was run over the now standard distance of 26 miles and 385 yards.
These races are always great fun: why not give them a go?
Final race – Thursday, 24 July, 7.30pm, 5 km(road), Battersea Park. Register at the Millennium Stadium by 7.15pm.
