Club Championship 10k

The Middlesex 10k county championship yet again doubled as our club championship race this year. Thankfully there was a much larger field than in recent years and the race proved to be pretty competitive at the front with the fastest man running 31:37 and the fastest woman 34:57.
5 Serpies went under 35 minutes, with Ian Druce winning the Serpie race in a new PB of 32:44.
In the women’s race, Holly Wilkinson also got a new PB of 38:59 with Claire Imrie also finishing in under 40 minutes.
Anthony Stranger-Jones took advantage of a distracted David McGregor (you had to be there to understand why!) to win the age-graded trophy. Assuming they both run in the final club championship – the half marathon in St. Neots on Sun 18th November – then the overall club champion for 2007 will be decided by their times there.
