Age gradings in results database

Runner in Hyde Park

Our results database currently uses the 1994 age grading factors. In May 2006 new tables were published and these are now the accepted standard. We couldn\’t start to use these straight away because some of our championships depend on age grading values which it would be unfair to change part way through a year, so I decided to introduce them on 01/01/2007.

As such, from the New Year\’s Day 10k onwards, the new factors will be used. Once you\’ve run a few races you will see that your age-gradings will be a little different from what you are used to. Some people will see improvements and some will see the opposite!

Those who run the handicap can already see their new target PBs (which are based on age-grading) since the next handicap is in 2007 and will use the new factors.
