Wanted! Serpie Handicappers

Simon and Lynne Maughan are retiring from running the Serpie handicap at the end of this year, so we\’re looking for people who might be interested in taking over or helping out.
The handicap really needs 2 people to deal with registration on the day of each race. Our deputy handicapper, Jon Knox, is still around to either support a couple or a pair of friends, or to be a co-handicapper if another individual would like to step forward.
We would like volunteers to commit initially to at least a 6 or 12 month period so we get come continuity.
If you are interested in race organisation we can teach you all you need to know about the handicap, generating start lists, processing results etc. As Jon says: \”The handicap\’s more interesting that just a straight race…\” so what more reason could you want to be involved in a great Serpie institution that has been running for nearly 25 years!
I\’d like to hear from you as soon as possible if…
– you are familiar with the handicap and would like to take over as the Serpie handicapper in a couple, pair of friends, or with Jon.
or
– you are interested in race organisation and would like to learn how to run the handicap so you can help out occasionally, e.g. when the regular handicappers are away.
If you have any questions please email me, contact Simon and Lynne (lynne.maughan@serpentine.org.uk) or have a look at the information on the website: http://www.serpentine.org.uk/events/handicap/
Thanks
