Concorde Sprint Triathlon

Runner in Hyde Park

17 Serpies (at least) competed in the Concorde sprint triathlon today, hosted by Thames Valley Triathletes. This was our club championship sprint race and it was good to see some new faces alongside the usual ones.

The fastest Serpie today was Paul Ledingham in 1:04:06 but he disqualified himself from the club championship by not wearing Serpie kit. This pleased Ian Druce, close behind in 1:05:22 who is now the club sprint champion.

Fastest Serpie lady today was Ludovica Bruno who had a very consistent race across the three events and finishing in 1:12:17

Concorde is not the fastest sprint course on the calendar, with a long swim-bike transition, an undulating bike course and a partly off-road run but it\’s a great introduction to triathlon and is always well organised with a fast results service and a cheap(ish) entry, being organised by a tri club rather than an events company. Hopefully we can see a bigger turnout next year!
