Serpentine summer grand-prix final results

Runner in Hyde Park

The grand-prix is over for another year and we\’ve had some really good turnouts in very hot weather. 31 Serpies completed all four races (1k, 1M, 3k & 5k) over the last two weeks.

The overall winners of the grand-prix are calculated based on speed alone – these are not age-graded trophies! The winner of each race (male & female) gets 100% and each person below gets a percentage based on their time compared to the winner. At the end of the 4 weeks we add the scores up to see who\’s won.

The 2006 men\’s champion is Andrew Reeves with 397.1 points
Eric Vamben was 2nd and Ian Druce 3rd

The 2006 women\’s champion is Karen Hancock with 391.7 points
Penny Thorn was 2nd and Val Metcalf 3rd

Andy won three of the four races and Karen won one.

I\’d like to also congratulate Christine Lutsch for winning the other 3 women\’s races. She lost any chance of winning the overall trophy by missing the 1k so well done to Karen for racing all 4 – often the hardest part of the competition.
