Use of Seymour Leisure centre outside of normal club times

Runner in Hyde Park

Dear members,

I have recently received some information from members that they they have been asked to pay to use the Seymour Centre outside of our Wednesday night and Saturday morning run times. As most of you will be aware, the use of the centre has also been on of the benefits of membership of our club. The problem has arisen as the contract we hold with the centre does not specifically address this issue, and changes of management have led to misunderstanding. Rest assured this will be corrected when our contract comes up for renewal in the coming months.

In the meantime, I have negotiated with the centre for our members to maintain free access to the centre at all opening times, so that members can run from there, use the lockers (NOT DURING WEDNESDAY OR SATURDAY RUNS PLEASE, USE THE CLUBROOM!!!), and use the showers afterwards. The Seymour will require members to show their valid membership card, and additionally sign in to a book, so that our use of the centre can be monitored, and our access reviewed in the coming weeks / months. Members who are also Seymour Leisure Centre members are of course exempt from this.

Please note that this access is to enable individuals or small groups (2-5) to use the facility, not for members to take part in other group activities not endorsed by the club.

Many thanks to those who have contacted me regarding this issue, and thank you in advance to everyone for your help and cooperation in the future,

Justin Lock
