Core Stability and Strength Training course for Serpentine Runners and Triathletes

Runner in Hyde Park

The four week course combines core stability work with resistance training. Although some core work uses your own body weight as resistance, you will be using equipment in order to add intensity to the exercises.
Your core muscles work as stabilisers for both upper and lower body (your core controls the rotational mechanics between upper and lower body).Factors such as running efficiency, stride frequency and length are all affected by your core.
Resistance training increases strength, muscular endurance and muscle size. This improves running performance by giving you added power and an increase in speed as well as reducing the risk of injury.

Sessions will consist of practical exercises with theory handouts when appropriate. Exercise
