Core Stability Course for Serpentine Runners and Triathletes

The Serpentine Running Club will be holding a four week Core Stability Course starting on the 21st February with personal trainer and Pilates teacher, Laura Williams.

Why core stability?
In order to maximise your running performance, you need to ensure that your core muscles, namely your abdominal and lower back muscles, are in good shape. Imagine that your core is like the base of a crane; it needs to provide good, solid support for your leg muscles. As your core muscles work as stabilisers for both upper and lower body (your core controls the rotational mechanics between upper and lower body), factors such as running efficiency, stride frequency and length are all affected by your core muscles.
