Another Clean(ish) Sweep At St Neots

Runner in Hyde Park

Serpentine had another great year at the ever popular St Neots Half Marathon last Sunday with the mens\’ team (Barrett / Reeves / Druce) winning for the 2nd year in a row and the womens\’ team (Hancock / Ayre / Thorn) coming 2nd. In fact so great was the packing from the Serpie machine that we also came 2nd in the mens team category (Davies / Phibbs / Fromme).

Special mention to Simon Barrett who came 2nd overall and Karen Hancock who came 2nd V45.

Almost everybody who ran also got a PB on this fabulous figure of 8 course along deserted country lanes, even though there are a couple of hills (or rather the same hill at the crossover, climbed twice). Marshalling and organisation was superb; weather was cold and crispy but sunny – ideal for running; pub was hot and snug with a fireplace – ideal for drinking; long sleeved T-shirts were even better than at Cabbage Patch; (but penknives were ludicrously small!).

Full Serpie results are in the results database.
