Club Championship Grand-Prix results

The summer grand-prix race series (the 1k, 1M, 3k & 5k club championship races) came to a close last night (2nd August) with the 1 mile race and so we can now declare that Emma Calderbank and Massimiliano Monteforte are the winners and their names will be added to the grand-prix trophies which are on display in the clubroom.
Emma had a clean sweep, scoring the maximum 100 in each race. 2nd place was Valerie Metcalf with 357.6, then Jeannette Mueller with 310.9. No other women ran all four races.
Massimiliano won two races and placed well in the other two, to score a total of 393.1, only just ahead of Andy Reeves in 2nd with 392.9. Ian Druce came 3rd, scoring 386.3
The grand-prix winners are the runners who have scored the most points in total for the four races. 100 points is awarded to the winner, with those in 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. getting points in proportion to their time compared to the winner’s time i.e. if the winning Serpie has a time of 10mins and your time is 12.5mins then the winner scores 100 and you score 80.
