Serpie Christmas Strava Art 2021 – Winner and Virtual Gallery!

Hello Serpies – Thanks to those who entered the Christmas-New Year Strava Art competition. Well done to everyone’s effort, we had some very creative artwork and everyone had a nice Christmas-New Year theme to it! We reviewed all the artwork and can announce the winner now. Please check out our Virtual Gallery below with the highlights.

The Winner is…

Sophia Holder had a really well-constructed run-around in Windsor and completed a beautiful Christmas tree, decorated with the dropping lights on both sides, a very compact stand, and finished with a star on top! She is a deserved winner as she had to do it freehand without any streets and paths to guide.

Highly commended

Matthew Hearne drew a beautiful Christmas stocking in Harringay, whilst very diligently going through all the parallel streets. He managed to go around Finsbury Park plus a couple of streets away to give us the foot! A very expert effort for his first Strava art attempt at exactly 10 miles!

To complement Matthew’s attempt, Sarah Dudgeon gave us a very nicely shaped stocking, with beautiful supports at the toes and the heel! Given there aren’t too many roads around Thorpeness in Suffolk to construct the artwork, she showed fantastic attention to detail, meticulous planning of routes, and the fastest Strava art attempt of all (a swift 7:43 min/mile)!

Thanks…

Once again I’d to thank Matthew Hearne for this wonderful initiative. As we are celebrating our 40th anniversary as a club in 2022, we are considering potentially running another competition for our big birthday – please watch this space!

But before then, Sophia has another message for everyone in the Club in 2022! Hope you enjoy this little Virtual Gallery, and we look forward to seeing more Strava art this year!
