Marshals sought for London Cross Country Championships – Saturday, 20 November

Would you like to be one of the volunteer course marshals at this Saturday’s London Cross Country Championships and London Youth Games on Hampstead Heath?  Please click above for more information.

Serpentine has been a longstanding supporter of the London Cross Country Championships and London Youth Games.  The club would again like to assist by providing 15 of the course marshals.

Would you like to be one of the volunteers?

The competition takes place on Saturday, 20 November and the venue is Hampstead Heath (Parliament Hill Fields).

The London Youth Games races, where some 1600 youngsters will be representing all 32 London Boroughs, take place in the morning and will be followed by the London Championships races for the adults. The senior races are always very popular with Serpies and I’m certain that a lot of our club members will be competing. There will be 10 races on the programme.

Ideally, you will be available from 10.00am until about 3.30pm to cover all ten races (a packed lunch will be provided).  There are also shift options to marshal from 10.00am until 1.30pm or from 12.30pm until 3.30pm.  If you’d like to help but can’t do the full day, please let me know the shift you are available for.

This is a great opportunity to see some high class running, to be able to encourage the youngsters as well as cheer on your fellow Serpies, so please support if you can.

If you would like to be a marshal, please me, Malcolm French, on malcolmfrench1962@yahoo.com by Wednesday, 17 November.

I look forward to working alongside you on Saturday and thank you for your support.
