Return to Seymour Centre - Wed 3rd Nov

From Wed 3rd November, the bag room will be open at the Seymour Centre and runners can choose to join the runs either in the Seymour Centre or near Speakers Corner.   Please sign-up for the run here and note the revised schedule.

From this Wednesday (3rd Nov) we are re-opening the Seymour Centre for club runs.  You can still join the runs at Speakers Corner.

We want everyone to feel safe so please can you follow this guidance.

  • Do not attend if you need to self-isolate, for example because you have been asked to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace, are required to isolate after travel, or because you are displaying any Covid-19 symptoms.  No-one should leave home to participate in sport if they, or someone they live with, has symptoms of Covid-19.
  • Please wear a mask when you are inside the Seymour Centre, especially within the club rooms where there is limited ventilation.
  • Please respect your fellow club members and maintain a social distance when indoors, particularly within the club rooms and when you are dropping off your bags

If you chose to come to the Seymour Centre:

  • Arrive at the Seymour with enough time to join the run.  It takes 10mins to walk from the Seymour to Speakers Corner
  • Bring your club membership card (or your joining confirmation email if you have joined recently) and present this at the entrance turnstiles in the Seymour Centre
  • Use the general public changing rooms as needed
  • Bring your bag down to the club rooms downstairs in the Seymour Centre, which will be open from approximately 18:10.   Drop off your bag quickly, respect social distancing and don't hang around to chat!
  • The bag room is manned club members throughout the run, so your belongs are safe
  • If you know your way from the Seymour to Speakers Corner, please make your own way down in time for your group start to avoid crowds gathering in the Seymour Centre.
  • If you don't know the route, we'll have a club member leading groups leaving at 18:35 (for pace groups running at 8:30/mile or faster) and 18:45 (for all other pace groups) at the rear exit of the Seymour Centre

At Speakers Corner we will continue to organise starts from Sid's Magic Box.   Start times for pace groups of 8:30mins/mile and faster will be from 18:45; Start times for pace groups from 9:00 minute miles will be from 18:55.   Final start times are distributed via email to those who have signed up.

After your run, please collect your bags promptly.  You can use the changing rooms and showers at the Seymour Centre.  There is usually a group of runners in The Larrick, if you want to join for a drink after the run.

Your help is needed in organising our Wednesday runs.   If you are able to help out (e.g. welcome runners at the Seymour turnstiles or guide runners from the Seymour to Speakers Corner, do get in touch or join the Wed night volunteer WhatsApp group here.

Sign-up for the Wednesday runs will continue (add link).   Check-in against the sign-up sheet will be done at Speakers Corner.  Saturday runs continue to start in Hyde Park.
