Serpentine's Summer Grand Prix - second race Monday, 12 July

After a year of going virtual, the Serpentine Summer Grand Prix series is back in July in real life!  Come and join us for the second race, the 3000m on the Battersea track.  Click above to find out how to enter.

The Grand Prix - Explained

The Serpentine Club Grand Prix is a series of races with trophies for the male, female, and age-graded winners of each race. There are four races: a 1-mile track race, a 3k track race, a 1k race in Hyde Park, and a 5k race in Battersea Park. These races are organised by the club volunteers exclusively for you, our members.

Dates

The Grand Prix races will take place on the following dates and venues:

  • Monday, 5 July (evening) - 1 mile at Battersea (track)
  • Monday, 12 July (evening) - 3000m at Battersea (track)
  • Saturday, 17 July (morning) - 1km in Hyde Park
  • Thursday, 22 July (evening) - 5km in Battersea Park (in the park itself, not the track)

To run?

With Covid-related social distancing measures continuing to be in place, we will require runners to sign up before the races. The sign up links for the remaining races are as follows:

Sign up for 3km - Monday 12th July

Sign up for 1km - Saturday 17th July

Sign up for 5km - Thursday 22nd July

For further race details, please see the Club Championship page on our website.

We need volunteers!

Just like other club-organised events, we will need a few volunteers to stage the race in order to act as timekeepers, judges etc. If you can come over to the races to help on the day, please let Malcolm know.

Also, we are looking for one or two volunteers to be our ‘backroom’ staff in order to coordinate these races. You will be helping us make sure that the races happen (e.g. communications, sign-up process, volunteer organisation). If you’re interested in helping out, please contact Malcolm as well.

Enjoy the Summer Races!
