Serpentine Summer Grand Prix coming soon

The Serpentine summer grand prix series takes place in June and July – please do put these four dates in your diary.

The grand prix comprises 1km and 5km road races and 1 mile and 3000m track races. Each race is part of the overall club championship series and counts towards that, but the series of four also has its own trophy for the fastest man, woman and age-graded Serpie.

The races are only open to club members and we would love to see as many of you as possible, whatever your ability. You can run in all four races or any one of the four races.  All of the races, except for the 5km, will be held as several heats graded by speed and/or gender, meaning that people of similar ability will be racing against each other.  These races aren't just for our faster runners and for those of you who have never raced on a track before, there are two opportunities to do this.

All the races are free to enter, and registration is on the day.

The first race is over one kilometre on Saturday 29 June in Hyde Park from 9.00am.

After that we have:

Tuesday, 9 July - 1 mile – Paddington Track – 7.30pm

Tuesday, 16 July – 3000m – Paddington Track – 7.30pm

Thursday, 25 July – 5k – Battersea Park – 7.30pm

More details, including about opportunities to volunteer, will be sent out shortly before each race.  There will be plenty of opportunities to socialise at each event.
