Assembly League race at Leyton Jubilee Park Thursday 6 June 2019

The third race of the 2019 Assembly League takes place on Thursday 6 June over a 5k course in Leyton Jubilee Park, starting at 7:30pm.

Registration, changing and bag drop will be available from 6.30PM at The Pavilion (near to the Eton Manor Clubhouse) on Seymour Road, E10 7BL.  The Pavilion will be open, with changing rooms and space to leave belongings.

The Assembly League is an inter-club competition over six races in the spring and summer months which attracts runners of all abilities and is suitable for both our speediest athletes and beginners and everyone in between.

One or two Serpies will be around to hand out race numbers outside the Pavilion - entry is free, and open to all club members but please do wear your Serpie top.

This is a new course around Jubilee Park consisting of a first 500m perimeter of grass sports pitches, followed by waterside and woodland pathways either on tarmac or gravel.

Parts of this route are narrow and one 10 metre section is two-way, requiring runners to fall into single file and keep right.

Please listen to marshals and only overtake when it is safe to do so.

After the race a selection of cakes, crisps and drinks will be available to buy next to the Pavilion.  The Hare and Hounds pub is a 5 minute walk away on Lea Bridge Road. It serves food until 10pm.

There is very limited parking around the park although a very small number of spaces may be available in the park's Seymour Road car park, Marsh Lane car park, Marsh Lane itself or on nearby residential streets or Orient Way.  There is though plenty of cycle parking.

The closest stations are Leyton, Lea Bridge or Leyton Midland Road. Buses serve the park from Stratford and Walthamstow Central.

Further details including a course map are available on the Assembly League Facebook group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/AssemblyLeague/
