Track access at Paddington Recreation Ground
Our Tuesday night track sessions at Paddington Recreation Ground for seniors are some of the most well-attended Serpentine training sessions we have. I have met with Everyone Active and Westminster City Council, who operate the track, to clarify the terms of our use of the track after a few problems emerged.
We now:
- No longer have exclusive use of the track for 7-8pm each Tuesday
- No longer have to pay £1.10 at reception to use the track or obtain a wristband
- Can pay £2.80 to use the showers and changing rooms – just using the lockers by reception won’t cost anything and will continue to just require a returnable £1 coin to operate
Security staff will continue their presence at and by the track, helping to educate and reinforce track etiquette if and when needs arise. If any problems emerge please do either politely speak the track user and if any further action is needed please do speak to the security staff or the duty manager in the reception area.
I recognise that this is a bit of a change to our previous arrangements, and I will continue to liaise with our coaching team, Everyone Active and Westminster City Council, to ensure that our sessions work safely and effectively. Thanks for your patience and co-operation.
