Fast running at the Frankfurt Marathon

Many congratulations to Marta Bagnati and Tony Payne for their success at the Frankfurt Marathon.

Marta ran 2:44:11, making her the third-fastest women in the club's history, taking over nine minutes off her PB as she recorded her fourth sub-3 marathon and contined her inspirational progress in her running career.

Tony ran 2:16:56, the second fastest Serpentine men's time over that distance, and a new Thai national record. This was Tony's third marathon of 2018, following on from his 2:21:53 at the London Marathon in April, helping our men's team win the British Athletics team championship, and his eighth place at the Asian Games in a time of 2:24:52 in hot humid conditions in Jakarta two months ago.

There were a number of other fine performances and PBs by Serpie runners at the race which you can find here.  Many congratulations to all our runners, and to our coaches for their hard work in delivering these achievements.
