Summer League home fixture - 11th August

Saving the best til last, it's the final Summer League fixture in Battersea Park on Sunday 11th August and we are hosting, so we need Serpie marshalls, timekeepers, bakers and runners!

Meet at the Serpie flag, to the west of the bandstand in the centre of the park. Timetable for the day is the usual:

9.30am - 10k main race for all abilities, 16+

10.35am - 1.5-2k tenderfoot race for 6-16yr old

10.55am - 400m fun run for under 6s

11am - 400m relays, intergenerational, for a final burst of summer speed

As this is our home fixture, we will be responsible for providing the post-race picnic. The club provides sandwiches and fruit but we need our super bakers to bring their favourite cakes and bakes. Susan Edwards (details on Serpiebase) is co-ordinating the food table, so if you want a steer on what to bring she can tell you whether we're short of gluten-free brownies or vegan sausage rolls... Please drop off your clearly labelled goodies with Susan before the race, and don't forget to collect your tupperwares afterwards!

If baking isn't your forte, or you're feeling tired after a busy summer of racing, we also need lots of Serpie volunteers to act as marshalls, help with timekeeping and generally help the morning run smoothly. Please email Daisy on summerleague@serpentine.org.uk if you are able to help - some roles are also compatible with running the 10k if you're hoping to climb that Summer League leaderboard...
