Club records broken – update

Last Friday we reported that the 5k club championship race saw Izzy Clark break the women’s club record and Nick Torry break the men’s V40 record over that distance.  Another look at the road rankings on Serpiebase reveals that the race also saw further club records being broken.

Many congratulations to:

  • Andrew Reeves, who broke the men’s V45 club record with his time of 16:19, taking 27 seconds off the previous record, set in 2003;
  • Harry McDermott, who broke the men’s V50 club record with his time of 17:20, taking 10 seconds off the previous record, set in 2008; and
  • Cath Ferguson, who broke the women’s V50 club record with her time of 19:43, taking 20 seconds off the previous record, set in 2006.

Izzy earlier broke the 10 mile female club record with her time of 57:20 at the Harry Hawkes 10 on 16 July, taking 10 seconds off the previous record set way back in 1994.

Nick also broke the 5000m (track) club record for V40 men with his time of 15:07:81 at the SEAA senior champs on 10 June, so now has the track and road “double” for that distance.  Will Green also broke the previous V40 men’s record with his 15:20:7 at the BMC Grand Prix in Loughborough on 8 July.

Many congratulations to Izzy, Nick, Andrew, Harry, Cath and Will.

If you know of any more club records being set, please do get in touch!
