The club's cross country trophies are awarded to the runners who show commitment, dedication and tangible improvement over the cross country season, whilst really reflecting the spirit of cross country.

The awards for the 2015 - 2016 season were made at the Summer Party on Saturday 2 July.

The women's trophy was awarded to Caroline Morgan.

The men's trophy was awarded to Glenn Hughes.

Congratulations to both.

Caroline Morgan - women's trophy winner

The ladies xc trophy this year went to Caroline Morgan in recognition for her commitment to the ladies team over the last season.

Her commitment was shown by her attendance at every match and her encouragement to other club runners to come and race. On race day, Caroline always gave it her all, to a point where she literally flew down Ally Pally hill landing in the mud, but despite this, got up with a smile on her face and carried on. As captain, this memory will always stick with me! Congratulations Caroline, very well deserved!

Glenn Hughes - men's trophy winner

Glenn HughesThe men’s trophy was awarded to Glenn Hughes. Glenn had a fantastic season this year. He ran every Met League fixture, finishing as runner up in the individual points competition in an exceedingly close battle and making a huge contribution to the Serpie team. Glenn was also first Serpie home in the Southern championships at Hampstead Heath, leading our second-placed team to podium glory.

In the two and a half seasons since he first ran for the club, Glenn has become part of the social fabric of the men’s team and his performances provide inspiration to many of us. Glenn’s always very humble about his achievements, so it’s great to recognise him with this trophy.
