1066 Relay - sign up now!

Serpentine have entered three teams for the inaugural 1066 relay taking place on 8th May and registration is now open for those wishing to take part.

The 1066 relay is a five stage off-road team relay, organised by Hastings Runners, following the route of the 1066 Country Walk from Pevensey to Rye. Starting off in the grounds of Pevensey Castle, the route goes past such iconic landmarks as Herstmonceux Castle and Battle Abbey before crossing through Battle Great Wood towards Westfield. The final two stages take in some glorious countryside, in particular the views from Icklesham and Winchelsea over the Brede valley, before a fast, flat finish along National Cycle Network route 2 into Rye. Stages vary from 3.20 miles to 11.13 miles, and the total race distance is 33.30 miles
To register for the Serpentine team, go to our 1066 relay page.

You have various payment options:

  2. Deposit only: if you want to arrange your own accommodation or turn up on the day, but use the Serpie transport
  3. Hotel only: if you want to use your own transport (not encouraged) but stay overnight with the Serpie group

Given the early start and the team spirit, we encourage you to join in the dorm accommodation.
