Women's 4-stage road relays
The SEAA 4-stage road relays will be taking place in Aldershot on Saturday 25 September. The relays are teams of 4 where each girl runs 3.851km (thankfully no baton carrying is required!)
Last year we got 2 teams out. This year, given recent Welsh Relays, Green Belt and various track performances (especially at the recent Grand Prix series), I am hoping that Serpette Spirit is raring and that we will be able to get 3 (maybe 4?!) teams out this year.
The plan will be to meet at Victoria train station on Saturday morning, travel to Rushmoor Arena in Aldershot together (the Club generously pays for our travel there and back), race & cheer, then travel back late afternoon.
Please contact me if you would like to run. Some of you who have raced this season will have already caught my eye and you will be hearing from me if I don't hear from you first :-)
If you haven't raced before and are interested, please get in touch!
If you would like to run please email me the following:
- Your best 3k and 5k times this year as well as current/likely form if different
- Any time constraints on the day
- Whether you have recently been injured and are still recovering but hope you will be fit in time. NB: Please think carefully about your availability as pulling out at the last minute obviously has implications for your other team members and the club.
- Please could you also indicate your availability for the National 4-Stage Relay Finals on Saturday 16th October
Note that you will need to be a first claim Serpie and be paid up with England Athletics to qualify.
Last year it was a glorious day and we were even able to catch a few rays. As much as I would like to promise the same for this year, this is London so we can only hope that Mother Nature is kind to us on the day! But it is a really fun day and I hope that many of you will be keen to run.
And if you haven't got them already, you will also receive essential kit for the day. That being none other than red and yellow hair ribbons :)
So, who's with me?
Hope to hear from you.
