London League final results and awards

Serpentine men finish 2nd and women finish 5th.

At the final race of the 2016 London League, the Jeykll and Hyde Duathlon, both men's and women's teams won and scored the maximum 100 points. We also took the mixed team result. In the mob match we finished 4th, largely as we encourage people to volunteer for this event, rather than compete.

So in the final standings it went right down to the wire for the men. We finished the season with 399 points winning a record 3 events in a single season. This was exactly the same score as Ful-on-Tri. However, Ful-on take the title due to having a better mob match score. I'm so pleased with our men's team who have performed better than ever before to finish 2nd and I'm sure we'll be back stronger to try to the title next season.

The ladies team finish the season in 5th place. In another close fought competition both Crystal Palace and Ful-on finished with 399 points but this time the title went to Crystal Palace on the mob match score count back. I'm hopefully our women can improve on this season and break into the top 3.

In the combined mixed team event we finished 4th and in the mob match for participation we finished 5th. We would have been 3rd in the mob match but we didn't have any finishers at the Clash of Tritons Aquathlon. One thing to note in the scoring for the mob match is every score counts so even if we'd had only 1 athlete at the event we'd have scored some points pushing us up to third overall.

In the individual standings Seb Buhs and Will McAvock both finished 2nd in their respective age groups.

The awards for adult teams and individuals as well as the awards for juniors take place this Sunday from 4pm at Doggett's Bar 1 Blackfriars Bridge, London SE1 9UD. All welcome.

Thanks and see you in 2017 when the League returns.
