London Cross Country Championships - marshals sought

THe London Cross Country Championships take place on Saturday, 18 November on Hampstead Heath and we're looking for volunteers to be course marshals. Would you like to help? Please sign up by Tuesday 14 November.

Serpentine has long supported the London Cross Country Championships and London Youth Games by providing some of the course marshals, along with volunteers from other North London running clubs.

Would you like to be one of the volunteers this year?

The London Youth Games races, which are for youngsters who will be representing all 32 London Boroughs, will take place in the morning and will be followed by the London Championships races for the adults. The senior races are always very popular with Serpies and I’m certain that a lot of our club members will be competing. There will be 10 races on the programme.

The venue is Hampstead Heath (Parliament Hill Fields) and the event will take place on Saturday, 18 November.

Ideally, you will be available from 10.00am until about 3.30pm to cover all ten races (a packed lunch will be provided). There are also shift options to marshal from 10.00am until 1.00pm and 12.30pm until 3.30pm.  If you’d like to help but can’t do the full day, please let me know the shift you are available for (the morning one is the more important).

This is a great opportunity to see some high class running, to be able to encourage the youngsters as well as cheer on your fellow Serpies, so please support if you can.

If you would like to be a marshal, please email Malcolm French by Tuesday, 14 November.
