New York Marathon

Congratulations to Andrea Fraquelli, who bettered his PB by 14 minutes to finish 57th overall in 2:33:45. Peter Holmes came home in 2:58:12.

BallBuster Duathlon

This "manhood-challenging race" (the Telegraph's words, not mine) saw a Serpie double: Nicolas Besson won in a time of 2:47:40, with Nathan Wilkins in 2nd place in 2:49:12. A further three Serpies - Harry Boscawen, Steve Palmer and Paul Perry - finished in 7th, 12th and 14th place respectively.

North London Cross Country Championships

Serpies once again posted strong team and individual performances. The men's team were second by just 4 points and the women second team by a similarly small margin. Men did win the first B team and first Vets team prizes.

Lots of individual prizes: Jonathan Poole 3rd man overall, Tash Sheel 2nd woman overall, Victoria Crawford 3rd woman and Daniel de Palol 3rd Vet.

Serpentine Club Handicap

69 runners completed the November Handicap on Saturday. The race was won by Stephanie Vaatz, with Joy Yang second to the line with a big PB and Jon Knox rounding off the podium in third place. This month's race saw 6 PBs and 6 scratch runners.

The Tom Hogshead 2017 Table is led by David Martin (185 points), ahead of Adrian Kerr (176) and Alex Malzer (161). Full results are on the club website.

Parkrun

A great many Serpies participated in parkruns all over the country. Joost Vogel won at Gladstone parkrun in 17:54, Milan Misak came 2nd at Wormwood Scrubs in 18:07 and Ian Benge was 2nd in Southport in 18:56. Christopher Wallace was fastest Serpie in a time of 16:48, which earned him 4th place at Brueton parkrun.

Full consolidated Serpentine results. If your name is missing, please update your parkrun profile with Serpentine RC as your club.

Well done to all Serpies who competed at the weekend!

Have a good week,
