Everything you ever wanted to know about about cross country

On Wednesday 20 September we will hold a brief informal chat and Q&A session on cross country in advance of the new season (the first Metropolitan League is October 14th which I'm sure will be unseasonably warm).

Summer may have drawn to a close but don't fret as that means it's cross country time!

This is a chance to learn what makes cross country such great (muddy) fun and to find out how to get involved - it really is open to everyone and there are lots of opportunities . The hosts will be our cross country captains Tash Sheel, Laura Carmichael and Hugh Torry who between them can tell you all you need to know about the running and (more importantly) the social side.

The emphasis will be on sharing their 'wisdom' for those who are new to cross country or have not previously run XC with Serpentine. We'd also be keen to meet anyone who has previously run and is interested in renewing their love affair with mud or wants to get a bit more info. As ever, we are hoping a few regulars can attend to show what a nice friendly (and slightly eccentric) bunch we are!

So, please do come along and find out what it is all about over a glass of wine and make some new running buddies. Cross country really is enormously inclusive when it comes to ability. It's a great way to improve your fitness and strength over the winter and it has a great run:social ratio.

We'll be in the club room from 8.00pm for a chat with the main Q&A from 8.15pm. Wine and humour will be provided.
