Club Championship Races 2022
Hello Serpies – we are pleased to announce the dates of the majority of the club championship races in 2022, after some careful considerations of the dates and what races would be suitable.
Grand Prix in the Summer
This year’s Grand Prix will all be held in July, as usual:
1 mile – Monday 4th July 2022, Battersea Park Track
3k – Monday 11th July 2022, Battersea Park Track
1k – Saturday 16th July 2022, Hyde Park Rotten Row
5k – Tuesday 19th July 2022, Battersea Park
Entry details will be announced closer to time.
Road Races
Half Marathon – Sunday 3rd April, Reading Half Marathon
We are able to confirm the Club Championship Half Marathon will be on Sunday 3rd April 2022, and the race will be Reading Half Marathon. As London Marathon will be held in the autumn this year, we thought it would be appropriate to have the half marathon club champs race in spring. Just like previous years, we are delighted to be using Reading Half, which will have almost 20,000 runners and will give a big race atmosphere; it is also easily accessible from London. However, please sign up soon as entry will close as soon as the race limit is reached, and it will usually sell out some time before the race day (and you definitely cannot enter on race day).
10k & 10 miles – TBC
We will confirm which races will be our Club Championship 10k and 10-mile races as soon as possible. Our target races are scheduled to take place in the autumn and are subject to confirmation by the race organisers.
Marathon
Same as previous years, the club championship marathon is ANY marathon during the year.
