Marshals sought - Southern Cross Country Championships - Saturday, 25 January - Hampstead Heath

The club  is looking for volunteers to be course marshals at this important competition.  Click above for more information.

The club has also been asked to help with the course marshalling at South of England Cross Country Championships  on Saturday, 25 January.  The venue is Hampstead Heath in North London.

With some 3500 runners, including 100 Serpies, taking part across 10 races, this will be by far the largest and most important cross country competition this year in Southern England.  We've long supported the event, which is entirely organised by volunteers, so please offer your services if you can. You'll see some great running and be able to cheer on lots of Serpie runners.

There are 20 marshalling positions and ideally 40 people are needed so that they can double up.  So there are plenty of opportunities for Serpie involvement.

There are three shift options:-

All day – you will be involved with all 10 races and will need to be available from 9.50am until about 4.30pm.

Morning – from 9.50am until 1.30pm.

Afternoon – from 12.30pm until about 4.30pm.

If you’d like to volunteer, please contact me on malcolmfrench1962@yahoo.com letting me know which shift you’d like.  I’ll then be able to let you have further information about where to meet, etc.

Replies by Thursday, 23 January, please, so that the marshal plan can be finalised.

I look forward to hearing from you and a sincere “thank you” in anticipation of your support.
