Met League team manager(s) wanted

Would you like to be a team manager for our teams in the Met League this winter?

The Met League takes place over five fixtures from mid-October to early-February and is a key priority for the club.  We now need to find a new team manager(s) to replace Ian and Sally Hodge, who are due to leave London after filling this role (and many others!) for many years.

We will provide lots of support and assistance, and this should work best with two or slightly more people covering this.

The role involves being at each fixture from before the women's race (which starts at 1:30pm) and the men's race (which starts at 2:35pm) (the junior races are covered separately), and we need people in place for each of the five fixtures (on 13 October, 9 November, 7 December, 11 January & 8 February).

You will need to register all new runners and assigning all bib numbers by 7:30pm on race day, which takes less than half an hour, and this can be done either at home or even in the pub if you have a laptop or tablet with internet access.

It should suit someone reasonably organised and not techno-phobic, and is comfortable dealing with people.  It is a great way to put something back into the club and to help others, and if we get a small team together we should be able to share the workload equitably in a way that works for everyone.  If we don't get anyone to step forward we won't be able to take part at all!

More information about the Met League will be sent out ahead of the first fixture, but in the meantime you may be interested in the changes announced at last April's AGM:

As part of these changes, we will also be looking for additional volunteers for each race.  Again, please do get in touch if you would like to get involved.
Many thanks

Tom Poynton
