In light of temperatures reaching 36 degrees this Thursday, the race organisers have decided to put the following measures in place to deal with the hot conditions at the 5k Club Champs in Battersea Park:

⁃           The start time of the race has now been moved to 8pm!

⁃           There will be a Water Station located at the Bandstand (water will be available at the end of lap 1 and the finish!). However, please ensure that you bring plenty of water/sports drink with you to the race as we cannot guarantee there will enough for everyone.

⁃           There will be an independent medic onsite with a vehicle booked.

⁃           The race will be two laps with the option of dropping out after the 1st lap.

⁃           If you require a shower after the race, the club will pay for your fee for use of the changing rooms at Battersea Millennium Arena-just give your name to the track staff at the front desk.

Please ensure that you keep yourselves well hydrated throughout the day-remember to drink to thirst. If you feel unwell at any point during the race, stop and approach the nearest Marshal. We strongly advise not to race if you have been unwell recently!

We hope that the hot weather does not put you off racing on Thursday and we can’t wait to welcome you all to the final race of what has been an amazing Grand Prix Series.
