More Volunteers Needed for Summer League at Battersea Park (Sun 11th Aug)

As you may be aware, we Serpies will host the final fixture of this season’s Summer League on Sunday 11th August in Battersea Park (10k). Thanks to everyone who has volunteered so far – you should have received an email confirming you are needed. At the moment we require about 10 more volunteers to help stage the event – please let us know using this form.
Volunteers needed
Thanks to everyone who came to the last four races over the summer. You have seen how wonderful the other hosting clubs staged the series so far – let’s make our own fixture a success as well!
The roles don’t require any qualifications and they include (but do not limit to):
- Tail Runner (we need one person to run with the last runners and help identify the last runners)
- Marshals (we need another 3-4)
- Finish Area Stewards (we need another 2)
- Water Station Volunteers (we need another 2-3)
- Picnic Table Volunteer (we need another 2)
These roles will require you to be free during the race, hence ideal for those taking a break from running whilst still wanting to experience the race atmosphere that morning. You’ll need to arrive at Battersea Park (about 200m west of the Bandstand) by about 09:00. With the 10k starting at 10:00 and with the tenderfoot race and relays afterwards, the event should conclude by about noon.
We have a good team so far but we can do with another 10 volunteers. If you are available to help on Sunday 11th August, please let us know using this form. Please contact us by Thursday 8th August so we can allocate a role for you before that weekend.
Picnic!
As usual in the Summer League, we as the host club will be providing a picnic for all participants. Thanks to those who have said they would be bringing food or baking products – we have already contacted you. If you would like to bring something to add to our spread, please fill in the same form and let me know what you’d like to bring.
