Hilary Walker joins the UK Ultra Running Hall of Fame

Our very own Serpentine Club President Hilary Walker has been inducted into the UK Ultrarunning Hall of Fame in recognition of her extraordinary achievements as an athlete and as a sports administrator.

In 1988 Hilary set world records at 100 miles (running under 15 hours), 24 hours and 48 hours. Her 48 hour performance stayed as the British record until 2023. Hilary held seven world records in ultra-running.

Hilary serves the sport as a British National Endurance Referee and as general secretary for the IAU over five terms since 2004.

As Ultra Magazine says, Hilary’s inclusion in the Hall of Fame was an easy decision. Hilary: we are proud of you.
