Handicap this Saturday!
We know you were disappointed that the January Handicap was cancelled due to poor weather conditions. Your safety is always our first priority. However, we have been working behind the scenes to find another date for you to run or volunteer to help with this special Club race. So please come and join us this Saturday 17 January for the first Handicap race of 2026!
The Handicap will take place in Hyde Park. We will move back to the original route, with the 4.3 mile race consisting of two scenic laps around the Serpentine Lake. After the race, there is an opportunity to relax with your fellow Serpies in the warmth of the Serpentine Cafe.
Race details
Registration for the Handicap is from 8.30–8.55am on Saturday at the meeting point, near the Boathouse Kiosk on the north side of the lake (marked with a green cross on the map below). Just look for the sea of red and yellow Serpie kit! There will then be a quick debrief before we commence the race at 9am.
Please remember to bring your number and wear your favourite Serpie t-shirt so that we know you’re one of ours! For new runners, we’ll issue you a number when you arrive.

Call for Volunteers!
If you are not running the Handicap but are available to volunteer, we would really appreciate your support. The Handicap relies on volunteers so if you can join us, please sign up on the club website here (including your coffee order) by 6pm this Friday 16 January. This helps us collate volunteers and coffee orders in one place. Volunteers need to be at the meeting point at 8:30am.
