Description
A 26 mile social trail run in the Peak District, led by Alan Hall and Hisayo Kawahara. By taking an early train, we can do it in a day trip from London. The route is a very hilly circular from Macclesfield train station with 26 miles distance and 2000 metres of ascent. Expected time around 7 hours including some breaks and walking up major hills. Open to anyone who can run a marathon and is happy with that pace.
Please be aware it is an UNSUPPORTED run through remote countryside with few settlements and virtually no alternative transport mid-route. You are responsible for getting yourself round the distance as we have no vehicle support to pick you up! You'll need to run with a rucksack to carry your food, water, rain jacket and sufficient layers for weather on the day.
Please book your own trains as follows for Sat 10 Aug:
Outward: London Euston to Macclesfield, dep 0800, arr 0941.
Return: Macclesfield to London Euston, dep 1856, arr 2059.
The walk-up return fare on the day is £87.20. Early booking may well secure you "Advance" tickets for significantly less than that.
To sign up, please add this event to your "My Events" on the planner by 1st Aug (you need to be logged in to SerpieBase) so we know who's coming and can send you final joining instructions.
