Sunday Richmond Park Long Run

Sunday morning long runs in Richmond Park are a great way to do your weekly long slow distance (LSD) run. The path round the perimeter of the park is about 7.2 miles. Some people do one lap, some do two (and some do in between). All abilities are welcome.

We do these runs every Sunday all year round (although check first over Christmas and Easter). There is always someone there, so all you need to do is to show up.

We meet at the Information Point, which is by the disabled parking bays in the car park next to Pembroke Lodge, near Richmond Gate. There are toilets and refreshments on site and water fountains on the route.

To be fair to everyone we set off at 9:00 sharp (until end Mar 2024 we are trailling a start of 9:30 prompt, and from April we will revert to a 09:00 start)

Please just come along (no need to warn us you are coming). People who are not members of Serpentine are very welcome though, of course, if you come on a regular basis we would like you to join the club.

The group usually attracts a wide variety of abilities. We do take special attention to ensure newcomers have someone to run with. There aren’t any facilities for storing a bag so do come along ready to run.

In the interests of safety, please do not wear headphones when taking part in club runs.  In Richmond Park, we share the paths with cyclists and it is important that you can hear any that are approaching you from behind.

We nearly always go to Pembroke Lodge for refreshments after the run.

If you want more information, please send an email message to sunday@serpentine.org.uk â€“ and one of us will reply.

Travel to Richmond Station by train (from Waterloo) or tube (District Line). There is a map and further details on our Richmond Park page. The meeting point in the park is quite a trek from the station – leave yourself at least half an hour.
