Serpie Planner - event reports

Moor Park 10k (08 Sep 2002)

Having run in Reykjavik, I thought it was time to enter a more local race !!, one stop further down the Metropolitan Line to be precise.
I also entered as I thought the number of “Serpies” entering would be few and far between, well on that score I was wrong as 11 “Serpies” took to the start line.
The course itself does not lend itself to P.Bs , with the first 2K run on grass within the extensive grounds of Merchant Taylors School, before going out onto the traffic free Moor Park Estate which includes a hill up to Moor Park Mansion itself between the 3K and 5K Markers. The race re-enters the school for the last 1k which again is on grass.
The race itself was well organised and it was great to run without any traffic around you.
Six out of the Eleven “ Serpies” who ran came away with Prizes, with Dave McGregor winning the race and the Ladies Team of Rachel Mackenzie, Sarah Newton, Jeanette Muller and Jill Hickman winning the Ladies team prize. The other “Serpie” Prize winner was Dave Mackenzie.

Moor Park 10k (02 Oct 2005)

The 4th annual Moor Park 10k and Junior Fun Runs were a great success with a record number of runners in each event. The sun shone, course records were set and much fun was had by all.

Moor Park 10k (24 Sep 2006)

Over 600 runners finished the Moor Park 10k, held in warm, sunny conditions - scorchio! The 3pm start time catered well for those who prefer a lazy Sunday morning. Times were not fast: the first 2k and last 1k of this race are around school playing fields on a grass surface and the other 7k is all up hill (it seems), as the route makes its way over a mountainous golf course and through the rather pleasant Moor Park Estate. In all, the event has a village fete-type feel, with blow-up this and that for the children to bounce on/in. As a result it attracts a broad cross-section of runners and would make an ideal

Moor Park 10k (27 Sep 2009)

10K around Moor Park (up the Met line), starting and finishing in the grounds of Merchant Taylors' School, and passing thru the Moor Park Golf Club. First and last kilometre on well-manicured schools playing fields, the rest on tarmac paths / roads. A long-ish uphill drag to 5K in the golf club, otherwise flat and fastish. Well organised, supported and run with a series of shorter juniors race.
Helen Usborne was 1st Senior Lady, and placed 2nd Lady overall.
Serpentine won the Ladies' team prize (Helen Usborne, Alison Nolan, Amy Johnson, Jeanette Mueller).
