Ridgeway Run 15k (12 Oct 2003)

This is a well organised loop run that takes in the Ashridge Forest and fields around it. It affords great vistas across rural Hertfordshire and a challenging course. Had the weather been what you would expect in Autumn cross country shoes would have been required, but as it was a beautiful sunny day this was not even a consideration for most runners. A field of over 450 runners made up a fantastic few hours. report from Andrew van Heiningen

Ridgeway Run 15k (08 Oct 2006)

This race starts in Tring, Hertforshire, and mostly follows the Ridgeway footpath across the Chilterns. Although the first and last mile are flat and on tarmac, the rest of the route is pretty hilly, following paths through woodland and across open hillsides. The views are spectacular at times. Tring Running Club organise the race well - the marshalling was excellent and the route well-marked. There were generous prizes (including I believe for Andy who was 10th overall) and a nice t-shirt. There was, however, only one water station, 6 miles in, and personally I felt there were too many runners for the course. The start, and many of the paths, were narrow, making overtaking or speeding up impossible at times. I\'d recommend this race to anyone wanting an interesting and challenging race in the countryside, within easy reach of London.

Perfect weather for a cross country run with great views over Tring and beyond. Well organised and marshalled.
