Punchbowl Marathon (30M) (14 Feb 2010)

Race Conditions: Cold and snowing for the first couple of hours then
just cold. Good conditions underfoot; firm and not too muddy.

Race report: The Punchbowl Marathon is held through and around the
Devil's Punchbowl area in the pretty Surrey countryside. Eight Serpies
ran the 30 mile route in three groups leaving at different times, all
finishing in around the same elapsed time.
Special mention goes to Paula Redmond and Anja Eichen who both
finished their first ultra distance event in 5:51 and to Jennifer
Bradley who ran solo and self navigated in a time of 5:46.

Punchbowl Marathon (30M) (13 Feb 2011)

A very wet day out in the Surrey countryside. Alan, Jany, Richard, Gemma and I all started the 30 mile course a little later than the rest of the challengers. We found early on that Richard, Jany, Alan and I were all running about the same pace so we ran the 30 mile course together all finishing in 5:28. Katie Crowe who started an hour earlier than us finished in 6:14 and Gemma finished with a very creditable time of 6:37.

It rained virtually the whole day and was very muddy underfoot in places especially immediately before the final checkpoint. It was a challenging day out but great fun.
