Three Forts Marathon (04 May 2008)
Off-road, very hilly "marathon+1" (27.2 miles), run concurrently with a half marathon. Starts and finishes in Worthing. The full marathon has about 3500ft of climb. Pretty well marshalled and signed with regular water stops. About 170 finishers in full marathon and 250 in the half.
Serpie men took the team prize in the full marathon (Ian Sharman, Mark Braley, Rob Westaway, James Adams).
New record set at 2hrs 55.
Three Forts Marathon (03 May 2009)
Hilly offroad marathon (in fact 27.5 miles) in South Downs (starting / finishing in Worthing). Fairly well organised, nice route. Quite hot on the day. About 200 entrants in marathon. Also has a half marathon.
Serpentine won (for 2nd year running) the team prize (Mark Braley, Ian Sharman, Philip Lewis and Rob Westaway) and Mark Braley placed 3rd overall.
